Dominant Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic £11m in earnings.

She received nearly 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

Other WTA Award Winners

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus following the birth of her first child and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and rising to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after winning their second Grand Slam title together.
• Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after making five finals.

Last week, Carlos Alcaraz secured three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
