Miami Heat & Trail Blazers Claim Initial Victories After Recent Arrests

The Heat secured a overwhelming 146-114 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in their initial basketball game since guard Rozier was detained over suspected illegal sports betting.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Billups was also arrested in connection with a broad federal probe into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the claims.

NBA Commissioner Silver 'Disturbed' over Arrests

Speaking about the arrests for the first time, league head Silver stated he was "very upset" by the incidents of the recent days.

"There's nothing more important to the league and supporters than the fairness of the game," he told Amazon Prime. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."

"The federal government has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can do all kinds of things that the league office can't do.

"So, we've been working with them since then. And, of course, what they announced yesterday was an charge.

"And two and a half years after, he still hasn't been convicted of anything, in justice to Terry.

"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise in this case between protecting people's rights and investigating."
